The experience...

Throughout the world, there is a long association with mountains and flutes....

This mystical and deeply peaceful setting is perfect for being with your Bansuri. Its tranquility and pristine nature greatly aid the focus and depth of your learning and practice. You will be able to take intensive training as well as undistracted, concentrated practice in the mountain shala along with blissful moments with your flute outside  magical spots within granite boulders, forest and while gazing into the sunset sky. We will also practice Swar Sadhana ( a form of meditation using sound ). 

You will have time to explore the incredible views  mountains and hidden water granite rock water pools all around the area

You can come one of the group immersions - normally only very small  groups of   3 - 7 people only...

Our Shala and Nature Sanctuary.

We take most of our classes and practice in the Shala. A large bright, acoustic space with windows on all sides with huge views of sky, forest and sunset. We we also have sunset Raag sessions outside.  You will be shown some magical hidden spots on the land to be alone and  connect with your flute and nature .

Our loving and welcoming  temple dog "Gauri" will be here to  make you feel at home also. 

Bansuri Immersions basic outline.. 

Four to Six days immersions include:

  • Two structured one hour classes per day including theory as well as practical 
  • Two  hours ( or more if you can  ) self  practice time .
  • Swar Sadhana - vocal and Tanpura drone meditation and absorption in sound 
  • Guided walks into the mountains and its  magical water sanctuary's 
  • A trip to the high Serra de Etsrela

Food and accommodation included. 

Accommodation in clamping style bell tents. It is also  possible to bring own tent to camp on the land for a reduced retreat price .

Please enquire if you'd like to stay extra days  after the immersion ends.

 

Routine and food : We wake early for lesson  with teas and coffees, then a light fruit / yoghurt light breakfast. Meals are brunch and an early dinner ( so we can spell early ) . Food is vegetarian ( vegan on request ). Teas and coffees available whenever you need.

 

Costs €500- €800 . Dependent on income , if you are on professional income please pay the full amount this is so we can have  some flexibility to not restrict this on low incomes.

Inclusive of bell tent accommodation, food and daily teaching and retreat programs.

 

If you want to bring your own tent cost is reduced by 20%. Please enquire about this and also please get in touch if you are in financial restrictions. This is an incisive place to support people in music , not a hard nosed business !

Individual Immersions  and practice stays 

Immersions 

(for daily  schedule  see 'Bansuri Immersions basic outline" above)

Individual basis or up to three people ( group of friends,  as you will be sharing the shala accommodation  )

4- 6 day  individual (or very small group)  training is very focused and  a  huge upgrade to your playing and practice.

Practice stays..

This place is here to support music  . You can come anytime and be with the nature to practice . No teaching  schedule, just  your practice , You could come even when Jason is not there  and stay and practice. When Jason  is there you can  have an   optional one hour a day guidance for your intensive practice. 

Details :

Accommodation would be in the main shala ( no camping needed unless you want to )  

You will be responsible for your own cooking with the basic kitchen in the shala  ( but extra supplies can be arranged for you so you do not  have to leave the sanctuary during your stay . .

The Shala is a large  bright and acoustic space with big  windows on all sides which make it perfect in colder or rainier times of the year as you can stay inside and still see the forest and mountains all around.

It has a huge wood burner and wood oven for colder times. 

Separate compost toilet and hot spring  water shower ( gas powered ) .

 

Spring drinking water and fire wood included.

 

Costs for an individual immersion retreats are €500 - €1000 depending on income and if more then one person  .

 

Practice stays cost around €60-90 per day .
